Subsidy is one of the most general and controversial economic concepts that is closely related to the livelihood of a wide range of people, various points of view have been expressed in economic discussions. It turns out that most of them do not have a proper scientific basis, so a more detailed study of this economic issue is necessary. The types of subsidies are introduced and cultural subsidies are described and its importance and necessity as well as the positive aspects and position of subsidies in the country are examined. The category of cultural subsidies has been discussed and the performance of the cultural sector in the country has been analysed.
