Investigating the relationship between perceived organizational support and organizational citizenship behavior of Sepah Bank branches in Fars province

Abstract

The main purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between perceived organizational support and organizational citizenship behavior of employees of Sepah Bank branches in Fars province. To achieve the objectives of the research, the level of perceived organizational support and organizational citizenship behavior of employees of relevant branches are identified and hypotheses to test the relationship between perceived organizational support and dimensions of organizational citizenship behavior as well as identifying perceived organizational support ability in predicting citizenship behavior. The employees of Sepah Bank branches in Fars province were surveyed. In order of data collection, standard questionnaires of perceived organizational support which includes 36 items and organizational citizenship behavior questionnaire with 17 items were used and distributed among 233 employees of bank branches as the research sample. The results found that Sepah Bank branches in Fars province have performed higher than the existing standard in terms of supporting their employees, but have not reached the desired level. On the other hand, the level of all aspects of organizational citizenship behavior, including diligence, courtesy, citizenship virtue, is lower than expected. Finally, the perception of the employees of Sepah Bank branches in Fars province of organizational support in these banks is a positive and significant predictor of the dimensions of diligence, courtesy, citizenship virtue for the dimensions of organizational citizenship behavior.
