Case study of the effect of different types of leadership on organizational performance in organizations under the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare in Guilan province

Abstract

The main purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of different leadership styles on employee performance in governmental organizations of the target community. To achieve the objectives of the research, charismatic, transformational, interactive and insightful leadership styles are identified as dimensions of leadership style and four hypotheses were defined to test the impact of these dimensions on the performance of the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare. The survey was carried out in Rasht city the capital of Guilan province. To collect data, a standard questionnaire containing 15 questions were used. The statistical sample was taken from 207 employees of the General Departments of Labor Cooperation and Social Welfare, Technical and Vocational Education, Welfare, State Pension Fund, Omid Entrepreneurship Fund, Social Security and health Insurance. The results of multiple regression test showed that each of the leadership styles had a significant impact on organizational performance. Among these, insightful leadership was identified as the most effective leadership style.
